Understanding GDPR: Myths & Reality of Compliance

Do the letters GDPR bring a sense of dread? Is worrying over compliance keeping you up at night? Or are you unsure of what they even mean? If your company does business in the EU, it’s an acronym you’ll want to familiarize yourself with in the next few months.

GDPR, or the General Data Protection Regulation, is the new data privacy regulation going into effect in May 2018 in Europe. The aim of the regulation is to give control of their personal data back to citizens and individuals within the European Union. But for many businesses, the GDPR is confusing, particularly for enterprises that aren’t located in the EU. What they do know, however, is that failing to meet compliance by May 2018 will result in some hefty fines to the tune of 20 million euros.

There are some key factors involved in GDPR that we discuss with Nick Eckert, Co-Founder of GDPR365 in our webinar “Understanding GDPR: Myths & Reality of Compliance.” In this webinar, we focus on the realities of GDPR from a business perspective. What is GDPR, what it will mean to be compliant, and what can you do to prepare for it? We explain how you can achieve compliance, and how biometric authentication fits into the picture.
